We got a pleasantly slow start and ambled down the hill to catch a bus to Walmart, where we did some fill-in shopping (actually, in the end, a good DEAL of fill-in shopping). The bus was pretty empty when we got on downtown, but filled well enroute to the shopping area. After making our purchases, we went to catch the next bus out to the airport so we could meet our friend Claudette and the driver for our building.
First, of course, we find out that the bus we need stops at the waiting area half-a-block back down the road. We get there, find the bus, and can barely squeeze on (Linda gets a seat, I stand … no matter, I couldn’t fall – or even MOVE – if my life depended on it!). Enroute to the airport somehow another 4-6 people mash into the bus, making it just about impossible for us to LEAVE the bus … though there were yet more folks waiting to, somehow, board the thing. At several points we’re tooling down the road with the front doors open and people hanging on for dear life.
At the airport, we find that all four of us have arrived substantially at the same time. We pile into the company car and get home (Linda trying to video the experience with her camera, but we’ll have to try again another day). Claudette got oriented and organized, and we settled into a fun dinner of cauliflower “steaks” with a savory chopped garnish & tomato sauce, bolstered with some brown rice & chicken breast cutlets.
